Clarkville Police report Car Crash on Crossland Avenue sends Man to Vanderbilt in Critical Condition

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – On December 13th, 2012, around 8:22pm, a 20 year old man driving a 1988 Chevrolet S-10, was traveling west on Crossland Avenue, went off the right side of the roadway onto the sidewalk, hit a utility pole, and the vehicle rotated partially ejecting the man out the driver’s side window.

The vehicle came to rest at the intersection of Crossland and Gracey Avenue.

It took emergency responders approximately 25 minutes to extricate the man from the truck. He was taken by Lifeflight to Vanderbilt Medical Center in critical condition with internal, head and leg injuries. The 20 year old man was the only occupant in the truck.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and alcohol may have been a factor.

The lead investigator is Officer Nelson Rodriguez.
