Mainstream Heating & Cooling completes Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – Mainstream Heating & Cooling, known for having 100 percent of its comfort care technicians NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certified, is now Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified.

A Green Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Monday, December 17th, to celebrate their successful initiatives and completion of the program.

The company has been a progressive leader in their environmental efforts for several years.

A few of their energy conservation efforts include examples such as retrofitting to more efficient lighting; using set-points on thermostats; encouraging employees to turn out the lights in unused rooms; turning off unused computers; repurposing by-products; recycling all items that can be recycled; inviting employees to bring in their recyclables; using GPS tracking systems to optimize their customer service routing and to reduce idling.

Drivers now carry reusable coolers rather than individual water bottles. Their most recent improvement involves the conversion of one of their large trucks from and all gasoline to a propane/gasoline hybrid system resulting in an average savings of $400.00 per month, less Co2 emissions and less maintenance.  This is an initiative that owner Daryl Pater has plans to expand on more of his trucks by spring 2013.

As Pater provided Montgomery County  Mayor Carolyn Bowers and Clarksvile Mayor Kim McMillan with a tour, he explained the importance of having duct work tested for efficiency and let them both look at the propane/gasoline truck.

“I appreciate you coming to see what we do, said Pater. Green initiatives are not only something we believe in at Mainstream Heating & Cooling, but much of it is also required.” Carolyn Bowers congratulated Pater and his employees at the ceremony. “We appreciate what you do and are proud to add you to the list of local Green Certified business,” said Bowers.

“I would also like to congratulate you for your accomplishments. Your company serves as a wonderful example for others in the community,” stated McMillan.
