Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan to hold Public Meeting to discuss Access Ordinance

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – On Monday, January 28th, 2013, Mayor Kim McMillan will host a public meeting to discuss the City of Clarksville’s proposal to revise the ordinance on access roads.

The meeting will include a presentation by the Clarksville Street Department outlining potential changes to the ordinance’s current language.

“Very generally, the access management ordinance provides the procedure for creating access points for businesses and residences. So, for example, if you’re building a house or business on undeveloped property, you’ll need a way to get onto and out of the property. The access ordinance provides the regulations for providing that access. As the City has grown and more development is occurring, there is a need to revise some of the provisions of the ordinance and the procedures we use,” explained Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan. “We’re hosting this meeting as a way to share the Street Department’s presentation on needed changes and to answer questions community members have about the proposed revisions.”

The meeting will be held at the Regional Planning Commission from 9:30am–11:00am. Time will be allotted for public comments.

The complete meeting agenda is

  • Mayor’s Opening Comments
  • Presentation of proposed revisions to the current Access Ordinance
  • Questions and Comments (3 minutes each)
  • Adjournment

“I know there has been discussion about this issue for some time. We have been working toward a solution and this is the next step in addressing the problem in a logical way,” Mayor McMillan said.

All members of the public are invited to attend the meeting.
