Clarksville Police need assistance locating career criminal Ray Anthony Farmer

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Career criminal, Ray Anthony Farmer continues on his crime spree and has expanded beyond the boundaries of the Clarksville-Montgomery county area.

He has amassed at least 28 warrants on file out of Clarksville/Montgomery County, Cadiz, KY, Guthrie, KY, and Davidson County since leaving a halfway house and being spotted in Clarksville in September 2012.

The majority of the warrants are felonies.

Wanted - Ray Anthony Farmer

The latest local warrants secured were for a burglary of a commercial business occurring  January 21st, 2013 at the Tennessee/Kentucky line. He has caused tens of thousands of dollars of damage to buildings or alarm systems and taken thousands of dollars of money or merchandise.

He was released from the Tennessee Department of Corrections to a halfway house in July 2012 after serving approximately 5 ½ years for Burglary. At some point, Ray Farmer, left the halfway house prior to completion of his time and ended up back in Clarksville in September 2012.

Law enforcement agencies in Kentucky and Tennessee have been working together in an effort to locate and capture Farmer, but he still remains at large.

In a joint effort, the Clarksville Police Department and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office simultaneously went to four different residential locations in an effort to locate and apprehend Farmer, but he was nowhere to be found.

Farmer’s Typically Methodology

  • Believed to perform surveillance of  businesses or actually spend time in a business prior to breaking in
  • Normally breaks into businesses over weekends:  Either Saturday or Sunday night
  • Disables the alarm systems by cutting lines or ripping alarm boxes out
  • Uses a crowbar to pry or break doors
