Queen City Road Race Art Contest winners announced

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville TN – The city of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has announced the winners of the 2013 Queen City Road Race Art Contest.  Two finalists were selected from each of the participating elementary schools.

The  overall winning artwork is featured on the official race T-shirt and event poster.  Along with that honor, the overall winner has been awarded $100 for their art class.  The top three semi-finalists each won a Subway party for their class.  Each finalist received a certificate and an art kit which were presented at their schools.

The top three finalists were:

  1. Olivia Nazar, East Montgomery Elementary – Overall Winner
  2. Wilson Raines, Hazelwood Elementary
  3. Kemeliz Fuentes, Barker’s Mill Elementary

The remaining finalists were:

  •  Jenna Bricks, Moore Magnet
  • Jacie Layne, Moore Magnet
  • Anna Vernettie, Sango Elementary
  • Anna Carter, Sango Elementary
  • Aamiyah Partridge, Hazelwood Elementary
  • Lyric Brooks, Barkers Mill Elementary
  • Haley Baggett, East Montgomery Elementary

Presenting sponsors of the Queen City Road Race, Cumberland Bank & Trust, play a large role in not only the race but the art contest as well.  “Cumberland Bank & Trust is proud to sponsor the Queen City Road Race, an event that promotes exercise as a fun activity instead of a chore.  The children always work so hard on their entries in the t-shirt design contest and some of their concepts are truly original,” says Vice President and Main Office Manager, Merry Beth Roland.  The 35th Annual Queen City Road Race is co-sponsored by Austin Peay State University, Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools.
