Clarksville Academy takes technology to the next level

 

Clarksville AcademyClarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy, a Pre-K through 12th grade private college preparatory school is excited to announce that all of its 1st-5th grade students will receive an iPad mini for the 2013-2014 school year.

This will place an iPad mini in the hands of every student in grades 1 through 5 and iPad mini learning centers in Pre-K and Kindergarten. This is the third phase in the 1:1 program originally launched in the fall 2011.

5th Special ForcesFort Campbell, KY – In an emergency room or a hospital you will find a group of people who all have one thing in common; they need medical care. The level of care might range from a common cold, to a broken bone or life threatening trauma.

Our society has not only grown to rely on, but also to trust in our medical system and the care provided, whether it is a medic on an ambulance or by doctors in the emergency room.

Special Forces medical sergeants with the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne) learn invaluable skills during training with the staff and doctors at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Suzanne Simpson: One Woman’s Heart – Part Two

 

Heart TransplantSuzanne decided it was time to get a complete physical.  She was having trouble catching her breath.

Climbing the stairs was too difficult.  “Maybe I’m just a little out of shape” she thought.

Her doctor said, “the EKG doesn’t look good” and ordered another round of tests.  He scheduled her for an echocardiogram, ultra-sound and more.  When the nurses had her all hooked up, they told her to sit down.

“We’ll be right back” they said.

When the nurses returned, they told Suzanne they weren’t going to go through with the tests.  They had seen something that bothered them, and called her doctor.  He wanted her to see a cardiologist immediately.

Toyota recalls over 800,000 vehicles due to possible inadvertent airbag deployment

 

National Highway Traffic Safety AdministrationWashington, D.C. – Toyota is recalling certain model year 2003-2004 Corolla and Corolla Matrix vehicles and 2003-2004 Pontiac Vibe vehicles. The supplemental restraint system (SRS) circuits are susceptible to internal shorting.

The electrical short may create an abnormal current flow and increased heat which can damage the circuits. This could result in an inadvertent deployment of the front airbags and/or seat belt pretensioners.
