Chris Horton breaks Austin Peay Men’s Basketball single-season record for Blocked Shots

Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – A day later and freshman center Chris Horton is Austin Peay State University’s single-season record holder for blocked shots.

Horton entered Saturday night’s contest with SIU Edwardsville needing six blocked shots to break Josh Lewis’ 2003-04 record of 83 blocks.

Initial statistics showed Horton with five blocks—tying the Lewis mark. However, after video review, two more first-half blocks were credited to the freshman from Decatur, GA, giving him seven on the night and 85 on the season.

It was the third game this season Horton blocked seven shots and the 13th occasion in which he swatted away at least three shots. Horton entered Saturday’s game ranked 10th in Division I for blocked shots, averaging 3.0 game.

His 85 blocked shots already has Horton ranked eighth all-time for career blocks.
