Nashville, TN – The day after a news story by News Channel 5’s Phil Williams broke alleging a potential grade-fixing scheme by the K12, Inc. operated Tennessee Virtual Academy, the House Education Subcommittee heard legislation that would limit or abolish this underperforming and highly controversial experiment.
Passed in 2011 despite overwhelming evidence of poor performance nationwide, the Tennessee Virtual Schools Act allowed the for-profit Virginia based firm K12, Inc. to begin operating in our state. Clarksville, TN – On February 21st, 2012, around 10:15pm, Mihretab Ghebremedhin pulled onto the parking lot of 2477 Fort Campbell Boulevard in a 2005 Nissan Altima, attempting to cut through to another road.
He pulled behind a building, but there was no exit available. As he attempted to back out, he struck the Golden Thimble Tailor shop, causing major damage to the building while sustaining minor damage to his vehicle.
No citations were issued.

Clarksville, TN – A 53 year old woman had been chatting with a man through a phone chat line and agreed to meet with him.
She met the man, Ratrellis Garnett, at a service station on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard, at which time, the decision was made to go back to the his hotel room to have something to drink.
Clarksville, TN – The start of Austin Peay State University’s baseball contest against Illinois State has been delayed until 4:00pm, Friday. The three-game set was originally scheduled to start at 3:00pm but heavy rains overnight have caused game management to push the start back one hour.
The series schedule includes 1:00pm starts both Saturday and Sunday.
