APSU Sports: Austin Peay Women’s Tennis
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team picked up its seasons first victory, Saturday, with the Lady Govs defeating Southern Indiana, 6-1, at the Austin Peay Tennis Center.

The Lady Govs were dominant against the Screaming Eagles, taking the doubles point and five of six singles matches en route to victory. Every Austin Peay athlete who won in singles did so in straight sets.
The top three singles matches unfolded the exact same way. Sophomores Alison Carre and Ornella Di Salvo and junior Andra Cornea each defeated their opponents (Liz Wilm, Lindsey White and Morgan Coquerille, respectively) by matching 6-1, 6-1 scores.
Sophomore Vanessa Tavares teamed with Carre to dispatch Wilm and White, 8-1, in No. 1 doubles while Di Salvo and Cornea secured the point with an 8-4 win over Coquerille and Elizabeth Skinner.
Jovana Karac picked up the Lady Govs other singles victory, 6-2, 6-2, over Alyssa Hoover.
The Lady Govs take a 10-day break from the schedule before returning with home matches against Lindsey Wilson (March 3rd) and Lipscomb (March 5th).
