Cunningham Volunteer Fire DepartmentCunningham, TN – On Saturday, February 25th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, the Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department held their Annual Chili Supper at Montgomery Central Middle School. Over 400 people were served chili, cornbread, and dessert by volunteers.

The price for a dinner was $6.00. Each dinner included a bowl of chili, cornbread, crackers, drink and dessert.

“It’s really something to see how hard they have to work to do and give the service that they give to the community,” said Freddie Petty. “This is a great event to help them out.”

For most of the night, people were coming for the supper and staying to listen to some great bluegrass music by The Stringed Legacy and to mingle with neighbors, family and friends. There was also a cake walk where $1.00 gave you the chance to win a cake.

“Everything went great tonight. We actually sold out. It was very successful,” stated Robin Moore. “We had several people just give donations. We served over 400 people. It went really well.”

“The event went awesome. We sold out of chili in one hour and twenty minutes,” said Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department Fire Chief Brandon Butch McCurdy. “This was probably one of the biggest crowds we have had in awhile.”

In March, the Cunningham Volunteer Fire Department Fire will be putting on an Easter Egg hunt.
