Anthony Campbell

Anthony CampbellCampbell has been forced to overcome ACL left knee surgery twice. But he was able to return to offensive form in his senior season, averaging 14.6 ppg. However, the old lingering knee injury forced him to miss Thursday’s game against SEMO. He is hopeful of playing Saturday.

He will leave APSU ranked ranked in the Top 15 in scoring while being in the Top 10 in both three pointers made and attempted. He also is ranked 10th all-time in free-throw shooting percentage.

Jerome Clyburn

Jerome ClyburnClyburn, meanwhile, started at point guard for much of his junior season and projected as the 2012-13 starter when a meniscus tear sideline for nearly the first two weeks of the season. Then in his first game back against DePaul, he suffered a hamstring tear that sidelined him until early February. Early in his college career at Southern Miss, he broke bones in both feet.

The Orange Park, FL native finally returned to the APSU starting lineup against Tennessee State, February 7th, and has started every game since.

Game Notes

The Govs will attempt to send the two seniors out on a positive note after watching Southeast Missouri rain 20 three pointers on them, Thursday night.

The Govs will be facing a UT Martin team that is fighting for its OVC tournament life-basically, a win and it is in. Of course, the Skyhawks also could earn a berth with a loss by SIU Edwardsville.

Austin Peay Governors

Austin Peay State UniversityThis is Dave Loos’ 23rd season as Austin Peay head coach and he is 370-333 at APSU-the winningest basketball coach in Ohio Valley Conference history-and 452-386 all-time in his 27th season as a college head coach

APSU was picked to finish third behind Murray State and Southeast Missouri in the newly-formed OVC West Division in the preseason poll. The Govs, however, have been eliminated from OVC tourney contention.

This will be the final game of the Govs season, with Senior Night honoring fifth-year senior Anthony Campbell along with point guard Jerome Clyburn.

The Governors enter the contest amidst a three-game losing streak.

UT Martin Skyhawks

UT Martin SkyhawksAfter its stunning 69-68 road win at Murray State, UT Martin comes in needing a victory or an SIUE loss to Eastern Illinois to garner a spot in the OVC tournament.

The Skyhawks enter the finale with a 9-19 overall record along with a 5-10 league mark. They are tied with SIUE and Eastern Illinois for third place in the OVC West.

Forward Myles Taylor continues to lead the Skyhawks, averaging 16.8 ppg while guard/forward Mike Liabo is at 13.2 ppg followed by guard Terrence Smith, who is at 10.4 ppg.

The Skyhawks went 20 of 24 (83.3 percent) at the free-throw line against Murray State and are shooting 74.7 percent as a team this season compared to only 66.7 percent by the Governors.
