Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University freshman guard Tiasha Gray was named the Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Week, Monday.

Gray, of Clarksville, averaged 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists last week in contests against Belmont and UT Martin.
She posted a career-high 22 points against Belmont, Wednesday, chipping in six rebounds, four assists and four steals. She followed that with a 15-point effort against UT Martin, Saturday, grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out five assists.
Gray played 84 of a possible 85 minutes in the two games during the week, including all 45 minutes in the Lady Govs overtime loss to Belmont.
It is Gray’s second Freshman of the Week honor this season, both coming in the regular season’s final three weeks. They were the only weekly awards won by a Lady Govs player this season.
