Austin Peay State University Governors Baseball rallies in the seventh to beat Western Kentucky 7-6

Clarksville, TN - Austin Peay State University’s baseball team rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, Wednesday afternoon at Raymond C. Hand Park, to post a come-from-behind 7-6 win over Western Kentucky.

The win by Austin Peay (10-2) ended a six-game losing streak to Western Kentucky, with the last Governors win coming on April 14th, 2009.

Fort Campbell, KY – To our valued employees, military members and Families of Fort Campbell: As you know, sequestration was triggered March 1st resulting in proposed defense cuts. I am sure you have seen and heard many reports, rumors and opinions regarding possible furloughs, times of implementation, days off, days of closure, curtailed services, etc.

As of noon March 6th, the Department of Defense and the highest levels of military leadership are merely planning for the worst case scenario of 100% of our Civilian Workforce being affected by Furlough for the entire period of 22 days or 176 hours.

Fort Campbell’s Gate 4 to close Saturday for Repairs

Fort Campbell, KY – Gate 4 will be closed on Saturday, March 9th for repairs beginning at 8:00am and will remain closed until 5:00pm. All traffic entering or exiting the Installation during this time frame must seek alternate routes using other available gates.

Gate 3 and Gate 5 will be open during the entire duration Gate 4 is closed. Once Gate 4 repairs are complete, Gate 3 and Gate 5 will resume their normal hours of operation.

Fort Campbell’s Gate 4 to be closed Saturday only for Repair.

APSU to kick off new GovTrails on March 27th

Clarksville, TN – A walking trail at Austin Peay State University is becoming a reality, thanks to a state grant awarded to the University to designate the trails on campus and organize other efforts to encourage a healthier lifestyle.

The public is invited to walk GovTrails during a kick-off celebration at 11:30am, Wednesday, March 27th in the Morgan University Center plaza. This event will be held rain or shine.

Nashville Predators recall defenseman Victor Bartley from Milwaukee Admirals

Nashville, TN – Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Victor Bartley (VIHK-tohr BAHRT-lee) from Milwaukee Admirals (AHL).

Bartley, 24 (2/17/88), leads Milwaukee defensemen and is ranked among the AHL’s Top 20 defensemen in points with 26 (7g-19a) in 54 games. He attended Predators training camp this season, but was reassigned to the Admirals before appearing in a game.

U.S Army Training and Doctrine Commander visits Clarksville

Clarksville, TN –  One of the Army’s top leaders told recruiters here that their mission remains relevant and vital even in times when the Army is undergoing a major transition.

General Robert W. Cone, who commands the U.S. Army’s Training and Doctrine Command, visited the Clarksville U.S. Army Recruiting Center on Saturday.  He spoke with the center’s recruiters and was given a briefing by its leaders.
