“Environmental responsibility is one of our core missions at Nyrstar, so it is natural that I am interested in representing our plant in this community effort. Our plant has benefitted fiscally and socially through our environmental practices and I’m interested in helping others do the same,” said Cooper.

Nyrstar is an integrated mining and metals business, with market leading positions in zinc and lead, and growing positions in other base and precious metals; essential resources that are fueling the rapid urbanization and industrialization of our changing world. Nyrstar has mining, smelting, and other operations located in Europe, the Americas, China and Australia and employs over 7,000 people.

During the last Green Certification meeting, City Project Manager Daniel Binkley shared his admiration for the commitment to the local environment and to the program from the CMCGCP Steering Committee Members. He recognized that although the majority of the members were not from Clarksville, they were dedicated to making a difference in the community.

The CMCGCP is led by members of the Steering Committee who also include: Tim Shaw of Florim, USA; John Hooper of Page & Tuttle; Aditya Singh of Trane; Ron Smithfield, Smithfield Manufacturing, Inc.; Daniel Binkley, City of Clarksville and Darin Cooper of Nyrstar.
