Nashville Sounds announce 2013 Promotional Schedule
Single-game tickets for the 2013 Sounds regular season go on sale at 9:00am on Monday, March 11 via the team’s online purchase system at www.nashvillesounds.com, over the phone at 615.690.HITS (4487), or in person at the Greer Stadium box office at 534 Chestnut Street. A total of 23 fireworks nights highlight the affordable family entertainment in 2013, with 11 falling on Fridays, 11 on Nashville’s News 2 Saturdays, and the team’s annual Independence Day show on July 3rd, sponsored by Nashville International Airport.A new promotion this season is Sounds Military Sundays presented by Piedmont Natural Gas and Tennessee 811, when the team will recognize, thank, and honor military men and women, past and present, who protect Americans, defend the constitution, and strengthen the United States through their service. Every Sunday throughout the 2013 campaign, the Sounds will wear camouflage jerseys as a salute to all members of the armed forces and the team will auction those off to fans during the final Sunday home game of the year. All military members receive discounted ticket offers and pre-game ceremonies each Sunday will honor distinguished members of the local military commands. The Sounds will host four bobblehead nights in 2013On Saturday, May 25th, the first 2,000 Sounds fans will have the unique opportunity to receive a Paint-Your-Own Ozzie Bobblehead, presented by PPG Porter® Paints. Fans will be given paints and brushes to artistically paint their Ozzie bobblehead however they choose. Fans can then submit a photo of their finished product to the Sounds via email to enter a contest to win prizes in age-range categories. On Saturday, August 3, the Sounds will celebrate R.A. Dickey Bobblehead Night. The former Sound and 2012 National League Cy Young Award winner will be immortalized in bobblehead form and available to the first 2,000 fans through the gates. The Nashville native was named PCL Pitcher of the Year in 2007 during his season playing with the Sounds in his hometown. The 2013 season also features the return of the team’s popular Bible Bobblehead Series, featuring biblical figures David and Goliath. On Sunday, June 30th, the first 1,000 fans through the turnstiles will receive a bobblehead of David, and on Friday, August 2nd, the first 1,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a bobblehead of Goliath. Both collectibles are presented by Trevecca Nazarene University. Additional giveaway items on the slate include: 5,000 magnet schedules (opening weekend); Sounds team photo giveaway for the first 2,000 fans (May 31st); Sounds rally towels for the first 1,000 fans, presented by Principal Financial Group (June 13th); Sounds hat giveaway for the first 2,000 fans, presented by Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital (June 14th); baseball card sets for the first 2,000 fans (June 28th); Sounds youth jersey for the first 1,000 kids 12 and under, presented by McDonald’s (June 29th); and Sounds adult T-Shirt for the first 2,000 fans, presented by Vanderbilt Sports Medicine (July 12th). Trevecca Nazarene University FAITH NIGHTS®The Sounds are proud to bring back our popular Trevecca Nazarene University FAITH NIGHTS® series. This season’s pre-game concert schedule will once again include six dates: May 11th (The Katinas), May 31st (Jason Gray), June 15th (Chris August), June 30th (World Outreach Church), July 12th (Hawk Nelson), and August 2 (Grace Chapel). Daily promotions also fill the 2013 calendarWednesday: #WebWednesdays / Music Industry Night. On #WebWednesdays, Sounds email newsletter subscribers and social media followers will receive the “Steal Of The Week,” including cool prizes, special offers, and ticket discounts at Greer Stadium for Wednesday games. Also at Wednesday games, individuals employed in the music industry can present a lam, business card, CD, press kit, or pay stub and receive a special ticket offer as well as access to an exclusive pre-game happy hour as part of our Music Industry Night. Additional non-Wednesday Music Industry dates include: Tuesday, May 7th, Tuesday, August 6th, and Tuesday, August 20th. Thursday: BURGER KING Throwback Thursday. Returning to the lineup for the fourth consecutive year is a fan favorite with a new title and look for 2013: BURGER KING Throwback Thursday, which features Sounds players wearing blue V-neck 1980s-style uniforms for every Thursday home game this season. Fans have the opportunity to enjoy discounted prices at concession stands, such as $2.00 beer, $2.00 soft drinks, $2.00 hot dogs, $2.00 popcorn, and $2.00 nachos. College students receive one (1) $5.00 General Admission ticket with a college ID and all fans receive one (1) $5.00 General Admission ticket with a valid BURGER KING receipt. Friday: Postgame Fireworks. Every Friday home game will include an impressive fireworks display that lights up the sky. Saturday: Nashville’s News 2 Postgame Fireworks. Each Saturday, a spectacular postgame fireworks show will follow the action on the field, presented by Nashville’s News 2. Sunday: Military Sunday / Faith & Family Sundays / Ozzie’s Fit & Fun Kids Club Games. Every Sunday, the Sounds will wear camouflage jerseys as a salute to all members of the Armed Forces. All fans presenting a military ID card can receive $5.00 off Reserved or General Admission tickets. In addition, fans can receive $5.00 off of Reserved or General Admission tickets when church or community bulletin is displayed at the Sounds box office. Only redeemable on the day of game. Limit eight (8) tickets per bulletin. Also, members in Ozzie’s Fit & Fun Kids Club presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods will have loads of fun at the ballpark with different activities each Sunday. Traditional favorites will continue during the season. Pre-game Autograph Days will take place on the last Sunday home game of each month, and all kids 12 and under can take part in the Delta Dental post-game base run every game. The Sounds will see kids from area schools taking field trips to Greer Stadium participating in various activities and learning exercises during three Reading Club and three Education Day games.
