Clarksville’s Bashaara Graves and Kamiko Williams prepare to lead UT Lady Vols in SEC Tournament Friday

UT Lady VolsDuluth, GA – The SEC Freshman of the Year, Clarksville’s own Bashaara Graves, is set to help her University of Tennessee Lady Vols win the SEC Tournament when they square off against the winner of the Arkansas-Florida game, Friday at noon ET.

Along with Kamiko Williams, from Clarksville’s Northeast High School, the SEC Champions are poised to make a run to the NCAA title.

#9/9 Tennessee (23-6/14-2 SEC) enters the 2013 SEC Tournament as the top seed by virtue of winning the regular season championship for the 17th time in school history.

Tennessee played Arkansas and Florida on the road this season, defeating the Razorbacks, 60-54, on February 24th and overcoming Florida in overtime, 78-75, on January 13th. The winner of Friday’s game will advance to a 4:oopm semifinal match-up on Saturday, with ESPNU televising the action. The opponent would be #4 Texas A&M, #5 South Carolina or #13 Alabama.

Tennessee had won six in a row before ending the regular season with a loss at Kentucky on Sunday, 78-65.

Arkansas is coming off a 93-52 home win over Ole Miss on Sunday, but the Razorbacks closed the regular season by losing three of their last four games.

Florida enters on the heels of a 67-56 loss at South Carolina on Sunday, and the Gators have dropped four of their last six games.

This marks the third time the SEC Tournament has been held in The Arena at Gwinnett Center.

The Lady Vols have been seeded No. 1 in each of those three seasons. Tennessee is 4-1 all-time in games played at The Arena. No. 1 seed UT won the SEC Tournament here in 2010, defeating No. 2 Kentucky in the title game, 70-62.

The Big Orange women have triumphed in 18 of their last 20 games vs. SEC foes, dating back to last season, including nine in a row at

home and eight of the last 10 on the road.

Tennessee begins the 2013 tournament with a 69-17 (.802) all-time record and 16 championships in the previous 33 years of the
