Austin Peay State University GovernorsClarksville, TN – After dropping its first two matches in 2013, Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team looks to make it six consecutive wins when the Govs take on Northern Kentucky, 1:30pm, Saturday, at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex.

It’s been more than a month since the Govs last loss, in a 4-3 decision February 2nd to Southern Illinois. Since then, Austin Peay has defeated Chattanooga, Abilene Christian, Southern Indiana, Lindsey Wilson College and, most recently, Lipscomb in a 4-3 victory, March 5th.

A pair of sophomores has been leading the way for the Govs. With senior Sean Bailey and junior Jasmin Ademovic beset by injury early this season, Dimitar Ristovski and Aleksas Tverijonas have been invaluable during the recent win streak. Both are undefeated in their last five matches, with Ristovski primarily operating as the No. 3 player and Tverijonas locking down the No. 4 spot.

In its first Division I season, Northern Kentucky is 2-5 overall but has won two of its three home matches, against Walsh and Western Kentucky. Senior Guillaume Berman has taken the top spot for the Norsemen, and is 3-2 at No. 1 singles this season.

This is the middle match of three consecutive Atlantic Sun opponents for the Govs. Austin Peay defeated Lipscomb, Tuesday, and will travel to Kennesaw State, March 11th, after rescheduling the March 1st match due to weather concerns.
