Next on the Lady Govs schedule will be a trip to Charleston to face Eastern Illinois, 10:00am, Sunday.

The Lady Govs ride a two-game win streak into this weekend, with wins over Morehead State (6-1), and Northern Iowa (6-1). The Lady Govs record is currently 4-8, but just 1-4 when playing away from Clarksville. The Lady Govs only road win came at Northern Kentucky (7-0), March 9th.

Sophomore Alison Carre has been excellent of late, winning six out of her last seven individual matches. She also has won six of her last seven doubles matches. Carre’s partner, sophomore Vanessa Tavares, has won five of her last seven individuals matches. She’s 8-7 this season after winning just two matches in 2012.

“I’m pleased with a lot of players on both teams, and Vanessa’s definitely one of them,” said head coach Ross Brown. “She’s coachable; she’s been working hard and making adjustments. The great thing about her is that she can get even better; she and Alison have done a great job in doubles.”

SIU Edwardsville is coming off a win against Southeast Missouri, and continues a four-game homestand against the Lady Govs. Monique Krutak is 11-1 overall, and 2-0 against conference opponents. SIU Edwardsville is 5-8 overall, and 3-3 at home.

Riding a four-game win streak, Eastern Illinois will face Murray State, Saturday, before hosting Austin Peay at Wabash Tennis Center in Terre Haute, IN. Sephora Boulbahaiem (EIU) is 6-2 overall, and 1-0 in OVC play. Eastern Illinois is 6-2 overall and 1-0 at home.
