Clarksville Police report One Shoplifting Superstar in Custody, Two Others with Warrants on File

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department says there are shoplifters and then there are “The Superstars of Shoplifting” commonly referred to as “Boosters” .

Boosters, unlike the common shoplifters, are very organized, do not generally steal on impulse and usually steal from businesses. They steal for profit, have a group or individual to sell to, and fill requests for specific items.

Marquisha Carthall Childress (Left) and Randall Joe Woods (Right) are wanted are wanted for felony theft. If seen please call 911. Anyone with information can call the TIPSLINE, 931.645.8477.

They recon malls and individual stores looking for security/police, surveillance cameras, and entry/exit points. There is usually a driver waiting in the parking lot, acting as an outside lookout and stay in contact through cell phone communication.

They enter the store, go straight to the items they’re taking, and get out most of the time before the store realizes what happened. It is not unusual for a Booster to make over $1,500 a week.

A video sent out through media channels was, in part, responsible for identification of two “Boosters” and another was unveiled during the investigation. One of them is now in custody and the other two remain at large.

Jasmine Monae Steele was caught by Police in Fulton County, Georgia, about two weeks ago after shoplifting approximately $4,000 worth of merchandise. She was extradited back to Clarksville on March 21st on warrants for shoplifting over $6,000 of merchandise from two businesses in the 2000 block of Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

During an interview with Detective Rodney Lifsey, it was also determined Steele was responsible for a robbery of a Wilma Rudolph Boulevard beauty shop, in which, a store employee was sprayed with a chemical irritant while trying to recover the stolen property.

On March 21st, 2013, Jasmine Monae Steele was initially booked in Montgomery County Jail on Two Counts of Felony Theft. On March 22nd, 2013, a Robbery warrant was served on Steele while in the Montgomery County Jail.
