Kenwood Elementary School hosts Pennies for Pets Project

 

Kenwood Elementary SchoolMontgomery County, TN – Montgomery County Animal Control received a wonderful donation from Kenwood Elementary School on Friday, March 22nd.

The school’s Beta Club led the effort, called Pennies for Pets, a three week long service project to help raise money, awareness about animals and collect supplies all benefitting Montgomery County Animal Control.

Our Mission in Motion Mobile Mammography comes to Hilltop Supermarket

 

Mission in MotionClarksville, TN – The Saint Thomas Health Our Mission in Motion Mobile Mammography Coach was at the Hilltop Supermarket’s parking lot Saturday, March 23rd.

“Bringing in the Mobile Mammography Coach is just another way for us to help our local community,” said Hilltop Supermarket manager Mike Jackson. “A lot of women do not have the time to take off from work to have this done. This bus makes it quicker and easier for them.”

APSU students do service work in Caribbean during Spring Break

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – For the second year in a row, a group of Austin Peay State University students spent their spring break in the Caribbean nation of Trinidad and Tobago on an intensive service trip.

This year’s group of 22 students traveled with Dr. Matthew Kenney, director of APSU’s President’s Emerging Leaders Program (PELP), to the small town of Valencia, where they spent a week building three houses with Habitat for Humanity.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports Sewer Line Installation closes Commerce Street through Friday

 

Monday, March 25th-29,th 2013

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Sewer line installation work that began on March 19th on Commerce Street closed the road between South Tenth and South Eleventh streets during the day time hours only. Now the road will be closed day and night due to rough subsurface conditions. The project is expected to be complete by Friday, March 29th.

Traffic will be directed to South Tenth and South Eleventh streets.
