Legends Banks becomes Green Certified

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – The latest business to become Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certified is Legends Bank.

Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers and Clarksville City Mayor Kim McMillan were at the green ribbon cutting to congratulate Legends Bank on their accomplishment.

Bowers asked Campbell about some of the initiatives the bank had taken to earn their certification.

Campbell explained, “CDE conducted an energy audit for us and Bi-County conducted a trash audit. We were able to make changes based on their recommendations and we expect to do more. We’ve increased our recycling, changed some areas of our building for greater efficiency, increased the number of customers from paper statements to online banking and now even provide board members with I-Pads rather than paper packets for their meetings. We’ve increased the use of technology within the bank and with our customers which is greatly attributed to our fantastic IT department.”

Bowers thanked them for their work and encouraged all of the employees who were present to bring conservation practices back to their homes for their children and grandchildren. “Pete Reed with Bi-County has told me the work that you are doing is making a difference, please keep it up,” said Bowers.

Campbell explained that Legends Bank already has plans in place to continue encouraging employees to conserve through a lunch and learn opportunity the bank has scheduled in April.

McMillan also expressed her appreciation and said one of the first things Mayor Bowers had asked her to do when she became City Mayor was support the CMC Green Certification Program. “I am happy to support it and see the difference that businesses like yours are making throughout our community,” said McMillan.

Legends Bank is locally owned and operated and is the first bank in Clarksville to become CMC Green Certified. Legends has been providing a broad range of financial services to the people of Clarksville-Montgomery County since 1998. In addition to Clarksville-Montgomery County, they serve Stewart, Williamson and Davidson Counties.
