Brentwood, TN – Senior Chantelle Grey, of the Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team, has been named Ohio Valley Conference Female Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Grey’s 2:09.03 mark at Saturday’s Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational won the 800m event, her season’s third victory. The Missoula, MT, native ranks first in the OVC in the event, sixth in the NCAA East Region and 10th nationally.
Grey is the first Austin Peay athlete to earn outdoor honors since Molly Bartkiewicz took field honors, April 27th, 2010. It’s her second 2013 honor; she shared the January 15th honor with Eastern Kentucky’s Ann Eason.
The Lady Govs return to action when they host the Austin Peay Invitational, Saturday.
