Clarksville Parks and Recreation to host 2013 Clarksville 50+ Olympics May 14th

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Adults at least 50-years-old can register now until May 3rd for the 2013 Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics.

This year’s events will be held May 14th-18th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Pinnacle Bowling Center, The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence and The Kleeman Community Center.

2013 Clarksville 50+ Olympics

Competitors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in more than 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, golf, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and indoor swimming events.

The Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics will begin with an opening reception at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 14th, at The Pinnacle Bowling Center located at 430 Warfield Boulevard.  The closing dinner and awards ceremony will feature a funky, Woodstock theme and will be held at 5:30pm on Saturday, May 18th at Uffelman Estates, located at 215 Uffelman Drive.  Dinner tickets are included in the registration cost, but for others who would like to attend the dinner and award ceremony, a $10.00 ticket may be purchased at the Parks and Recreation office.

Participants who register on or before April 29th qualify for the Early Bird Rate of $20.00. Cost to register April 30 through May 3rd is $25.00. Certain events such as golf or bowling may have an additional fee.  Registration fee includes complimentary 50 Plus Olymics t-shirt.
