Paint chips and fabric swatches were a large part of my first creative endeavors.  Having been fortunate to be able to call Boston, Knoxville and Nashville home, I was further inspired and energized by the unique offerings and feel of each of these distinctive cities. Each provided new art experiences and self-discovery as I took classes and workshops for different media.”

Melanie currently lives in Owensboro, KY, and her focus has now turned to acrylics. “I enjoy experimenting with the cohesion and repulsion of various colors and materials such as waters, pastes and papers,” she states.

For the April Art Walk, Rogate’s Boutique (115 Franklin Street) will be showcasing Karen’s Michael’s photographs.
Karen starting taking photos when she decided to quit work and stay home with her children and it has since turned into a hobby. She will be showing landscapes from her home state of Michigan.
