Austin Peay State University Governors Tennis beats Tennessee State

 

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s tennis team ran its win streak to 13 consecutive matches, taking down Tennessee State twice, Saturday.

The Govs defeated the Tigers 4-0 (non-conference) and 7-0 at the Austin Peay Tennis Courts to continue its stellar 2013 season.

Morale, Welfare and RecreationFort Campbell, KY – Estep Wellness Center has released their April class schedule. A new month brings new changes which includes Monday and Friday mornings Cycle to 9:00am and Pilates to 9:15am.

They continue to offer Tabata/Abs Ablaze/Stretch combo class on Mondays from 11:45am to 12:45pm; and a Power Cycle/Belly Burn/Stretch combo class on Wednesdays from 11:45am to 12:45pm. Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team won in walk-off fashion in one game, while pulling away late in the other, as they swept a Ohio Valley Conference doubleheader from Morehead State Saturday afternoon at Cheryl Holt Field 3-2 – in eight innings – and 10-5.

Two Austin Peay State University Alumni to be inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Hall of Fame

Nashville Sounds “Swing for the Trees” Planting Event

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN – Officials from the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the Nashville Sounds, Metro Parks staff, and Friends of Edwin Warner Park, along with other volunteers, gathered at the park to plant trees as part of the “Swing for the Trees” program.

“Swing for the Trees” is a tree planting program to promote the importance of trees to Tennessee. The TWRA participated in the program beginning last season. During the Sounds home games, where there was at least one broken bat, resulted in the opportunity for obtaining trees to be planted this spring. A total of 114 bats were broken by the Sounds in 2012.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Nashville Sounds were among those planting trees in Edwin Warner Park as part of the “Swing for the Trees” program.
