Clarksville, TN – Junior Anthony Bradley, of the Austin Peay State University men’s golf team, has been named the Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week.
Bradley shot a four-under par 209 (69-68-72) to earn medalist honors at the Arkansas State Red Wolves Intercollegiate last week, his second medalist honor of the season, topping a field of 112 competitors. Bradley sank 10 birdies and an eagle during the two-day event, leading the Govs to a school-record fifth tournament title.
The win earned Bradley a second OVC Golfer of the Week honor, and made it six times this season – and four weeks in a row – that a Gov earned at least a share of the conference’s weekly award.The Copies in a Flash APSU Athlete of the Week is selected by the APSU Sports Information staff each Tuesday during the academic year. Copies in a Flash, of Clarksville, sponsors the award.
Other notable performances by Austin Peay athletes included
- Junior Jasmin Ademovic, of the men’s tennis team, went 4-0 in singles last week, splitting time between No. 1 and his customary No. 2 spot. He’s one of four Govs that are on current 10-match or better win streaks, with the men’s team on a program-best 14-match win streak.
- Junior pitcher Lee Ridenhour, of the baseball team, went eight innings and struck out a career high nine batters for the win against Tennessee Tech, Friday, which earned head coach Gary McClure his OVC-record 777th career victory.
- Sophomore Alison Carre, of the women’s tennis team, won three matches in near-untouchable fashion last week, dropping just one set total in two matches against Tennessee State and one against Belmont. She and Vanessa Tavares also emerged victorious in two doubles matches.
- Junior first baseman Craig Massoni, of the baseball team, hit .476 (10-for-21) with a home run and eight RBI in five games last week. He reached base in all five plate appearances, Saturday, going 4-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI, and ended the week with a 3-for-4, 3-RBI Sunday that included his season’s team-leading sixth home run.
