Austin Peay concluded a 15-3 regular season with an 8-1 OVC mark to capture the No. 2 seed and a bye into the OVC Tournament semifinals. Eastern Kentucky defeated sixth-seeded Morehead State to move to 13-12 on the season.

The Govs defeated the Colonels, 5-2, March 16th, the seventh win in their 14-match win streak. Senior Sean Bailey, junior Jasmin Ademovic and sophomores Dimitar Ristovski and Aleksas Tverijonas each picked up victories in that match.

However, the Govs have been put out of the OVC Tournament by the Colonels in each of the last three seasons. In 2012, the Govs dropped a 4-2 decision in the semifinals, with Ademovic and Ristovski winning their matches at No. 2 and No. 3.

Bailey, Ademovic, Ristovski and Tverijonas repeated their All-OVC performances from last season, each earning another nod this season. Bailey became the first Gov to earn four all-conference honors, while Ademovic could become the second next year after earning his third straight first team honor.

The Colonels advanced to the semifinals after a hard-fought 4-3 victory against Morehead State, Friday. Joao Maio’s epic three-set, 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 victory against Nick Mercer at No. 5 was the clinching victory. He and No. 1 player Daridge Saidi (who lost 5-7, 7-5, 7-5 to Ji Hoon Heo) were both pushed to three sets.

The winner of this match moves on to face the winner of No. 1 Tennessee Tech and No. 5 Belmont, 2:00pm, Sunday.
