APSU Lady Govs Track and Field wins Battle of the Cumberland Track Meet

 

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsClarksville, TN - Austin Peay State University women’s track and field team won its Battle of the Cumberland tri-meet against Murray State and Tennessee Tech, Tuesday, at Governors Stadium.

The Lady Govs topped the charts at 94 team points. The Racers’ 65 points put them ahead of the Golden Eagles’ 36-point tally.

Austin Peay State University Baseball team set for double-header with Evansville Wednesday

 

Austin Peay State University Governors SportsClarksville, TN - Fresh off a critical Ohio Valley Conference series victory, Austin Peay’s baseball team will seek to build on that momentum when it hosts Evansville in a 4:00pm, Wednesday doubleheader that will be composed of two seven-inning contests.

Clarksville Police wants to make the Public aware of Phone Scam

 

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – Recently the Clarksville Police Department has received complaints that an unknown individual(s) have been contacting citizens by phone representing themselves as a representative from a law enforcement agency.

The suspect(s) advise the complainants that there has been a warrant issued for the complainants arrest. In order to avoid being taken into custody a payment and/or bond is required to be made over the phone.

APSU Lady Govs Golf finishes fifth at OVC Tournament

 

Austin Peay State University Lady GovsDickson, TN - Austin Peay State University women’s golf team was left black and blue over the final holes in the Ohio Valley Conference golf championships, Tuesday, played at GreyStone. As a result, the Lady Govs ended in fifth place after shooting a final-round 317 for a 938 total.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s “Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics” to kick off May 14th

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Adults at least 50-years-old can register now until May 3rd for the 2013 Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics.

This year’s events will be held May 14th-18th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Pinnacle Bowling Center, The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence and The Kleeman Community Center.

Nashville Sounds lose 7-1 to Omaha Storm Chasers at Greer Stadium

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN - The visiting Omaha Storm Chasers used strong pitching and 12 hits against the Nashville Sounds in Tuesday morning’s day game at Greer Stadium to defeat the home team 7-1, and win the four-game series, 3-1.

The Sounds connected for seven hits on the day and only reached scoring position once before Hunter Morris’ two-out home run in the ninth.

Austin Peay State University to hold peace walk, vigil for Boston Marathon

 

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will hold a peace walk and candlelight vigil this week to honor those impacted by the Boston Marathon bombing attacks.

Rivers and Spires Festival Celebrates Successful 11th Year

 

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The Rivers and Spires Festival and the the Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau, want to extend a ‘thank-you’ to all the sponsors, volunteers and vendors who helped make the 11th annual Rivers and Spires Festival an overwhelming success.

This year, over 35,000 people attended the three-day event, with over 28,500 people attending on Saturday alone.
