Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s basketball head coach Carrie Daniels has announced that sophomore guards Shira Buley and Shelby Olszewski have left the program to pursue other opportunities.
Buley, of Knoxville, TN is expected to transfer following the end of the current academic semester. She played in 21 contests during the 2012-13 season, starting 11, and averaged 2.3 points and 1.4 assists per game.Shelby Olszewski, of Pickerington, Ohio, will remain at Austin Peay. She played in 24 contests last season, starting 11. She averaged 2.9 points and 2.2 rebounds per game during the season.
“I appreciate all that Shira and Shelby have done for the Lady Govs basketball program,” said Daniels. “I want to wish them both the best in their future undertakings.”
The departures, plus the graduation of three seniors, will leave the Lady Govs with 10 returning players to populate the 2013-14 roster.
That group will be bolstered by four fall signees:
