Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans have announced that Akeem Ayers and Jurrell Casey are scheduled to appear at 5:30pm Tuesday, April 30th at the Kroger store located at 2100 Lowes Drive.

The Academy Sports + Outdoors Titans Caravan is a regional series of school visits and free, public autograph signings from April 29th through May 10th.

Each Caravan stop generally features one to three players. Those scheduled to appear (subject to change) during the first week are quarterback Jake Locker, linebacker Akeem Ayers, defensive tackle Jurrell Casey, left tackle Michael Roos, right tackle David Stewart, defensive end Kamerion Wimbley, tight end Delanie Walker and safety George Wilson.

For Stewart and Wilson, the Caravan will provide an opportunity to return to their hometowns. Stewart grew up in Moulton, AL, not far from the Academy Sports + Outdoors in Decatur, AL, where the Caravan will visit on May 1st.  Wilson hails from Paducah, KY, where the Caravan will stop on May 3rd at Shoe Carnival.

Academy Sports + Outdoors Titans Caravan public stops are free events that allow fans to meet players, T-Rac and the “Voice of the Titans” Mike Keith.  Posters are provided at no cost to all Caravan attendees for autographs, and photos are encouraged.  Public stops generally last one hour.

In addition to the public gatherings, the Titans will perform 22 school programs throughout the region that are expected to reach approximately 12,000 students. The program is based on the NFL’s Play 60 initiative, which encourages youth to get at least 60 minutes of active play each day.

The school program delivers a high-energy, educational message from a Titans player, eight-time Pro Bowl Titans mascot T-Rac, host Rhett Bryan and representatives from Tennessee State Parks.  In addition to the Play 60 elements, audience members receive a message about making good choices in all parts of their lives.

They also get up-close looks at Tennessee wildlife in the care of Tennessee State Parks, as well as information on nearby state parks.

Titans Caravan began in 1998 as a small effort to spread goodwill through the region. Today, seven full-time staffers travel with Titans players and T-Rac through the Mid-South on a specially-decorated motor coach provided by Grand Avenue.

Since 1998, the Caravan has made over 750 stops, visited more than 300 schools and allowed the team to interact directly with an estimated audience well in excess of 120,000 fans.
