Clarksville Gas and Water Department announces Sewer Rehab Work Underway in Clarksville

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water’s ongoing sewer rehabilitation program is underway in Clarksville and the help and cooperation of residents is needed.

Contractors are currently performing sewer rehab work in the Bel Air subdivision and surrounding service area and residents will see their personnel and equipment in neighborhoods for the next 2-3 months. Rehab work will be done in and around manholes, sewer main lines and sewer lateral connections.

While work is performed, customer sewer connections to the main line will be temporarily sealed off. To avoid sewer backup during the process, it’s important that customers limit water and toilet use or any activity that would send water into household drains and sewer lines.

An advance letter of notification of scheduled work is mailed to residents directly from the contractor to help them plan for the date they will be affected; however, some work may not be completed within the scheduled week and will be rescheduled to the following week.

The contractor’s onsite personnel will also make door-to-door visits, 1-2 days in advance, to inform residents or to leave an informative door hanger of the work to be performed. A weekly work schedule will also be advertised in local media outlets and on the City of Clarksville, Gas and Water website, www.clarksvillegw.com.

The majority of the work scheduled for the week of June 10th-14th, 2013 will be in North Clarksville, except for one job on Crossland Avenue between Charlotte Street and High Street. Unfinished work will be rescheduled to the following week.
