Clarksville, TN — The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department is proud to announce the first-ever Wonder Kids Triathlon to be held August 3rd.
This event is open to boys and girls ages 3-12 and will take place at the New Providence Pool and surrounding property, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.
Each course varies depending on age:
- 3-5 years: 25 meter swim, 300 yard bike and 100 yard run
- 6-8 years: 50 meter swim, 600 yard bike, 300 yard run
- 9-11 years: 100 meter swim, 1 mile bike, ½ mile run
All floatation devices must be Coast Guard approved.
Cost to participate is $25.00 per child and pre-registration is required. There will be a limit of 100 participants in this year’s event so be sure and register early.
Registration can be completed at the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Main Office, located at 102 Public Square, or online at recpro.cityofclarksville.com. Participants must register no later than July 29th.
Registered participants will be able to pick up their registration packets at the Jack in the Box, located at 40 Dover Crossing Road, August 1st and 2nd from 10:00a.m. to 2:00pm. Afterwards, packets will available for pick up at the New Providence Pool from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Friday, August 2nd.
This gives parents and participants the chance to check out the course route and transition stations in person.
On triathlon day, check in is at 7:30am and will include equipment check. Stay around for the race, parade to the pool and awards. All participants will receive a medal, shirt and the opportunity to have their photo taken on the pedestal.
