Nashville Sounds split double-header with Iowa Cubs

 

Nashville SoundsDes Moines, IA - The Nashville Sounds split a doubleheader with the division-rival Iowa Cubs on Wednesday evening at Principal Park. Each team recorded a one-run victory in the twinbill as Nashville captured the opener, 5-4, before dropping the nightcap, 1-0.

In the opener, Chris Narveson (1-2) made his fifth rehab start for the Sounds and held the I-Cubs to two runs on four hits over five-plus innings of work, tossing 80 pitches to earn the victory. He walked one batters and struck out two.

Hunter Richardson, Alexa Rippy lead after opening round of Hank Miles Junior City Amateur

 

Clarksville Sports NetworkClarksville, TN - Hunter Richardson and Alexa Rippy each hold one-shot advantages, in their respective divisions, after the opening round of the 2013 Hank Miles Junior City Amateur – being held at Swan Lake Golf Course.

In the Boys 18-hole Division, Richardson fired a two-over 73 to lead Payton Williams by one shot, after he carded a first-round three-over 74.

Austin Peay State University Football hires Kyran Weaver as new linebackers coach

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University ( APSU ) football hires Kyran Weaver, a former defensive coach under Kirby Cannon at Missouri S&T, as the new linebackers coach and the program’s strength and conditioning coordinator.

He replaces Gary Shephard, who retired from coaching earlier this year.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department announces Peachers Drive Water Outage Planned

 

Friday, June 21st, 2012

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water has planned a water outage on Peachers Drive on Friday at 9:00am until 12:00pm, weather permitting.

Construction crews will be performing maintenance on a ten-inch water main line resulting in the water outage and possible low water pressure for area residents.

The road will be open to traffic.

Tennessee Holds Largest Ever Teacher Training on the Common Core State Standards

 

Tennessee Department of EducationNashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Education this morning launched the state’s largest ever teacher training focused on the implementation of the Common Core State Standards in math and English.

Clarksville Gas and Water Department reports Section of Yorktown Road Closed for Sewer Work

 

Wednesday-Thursday, June 19th-20th, 2013

Clarksville Gas and Water DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Gas and Water construction crews have closed a section of Yorktown Road from East Bel Air Boulevard to Concord Drive until 4:00pm. this afternoon.  Crews are performing sewer service line work along Yorktown Road closing it to through traffic. Work will also take place on Thursday from 9:00am until 4:00pm.

Traffic will be detoured to East Bel Air Boulevard and Concord Drive.
