Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Adopt-a-Plot Program still has plots available

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Have you ever been driving down the road and wondered “How do I sign up for one of these plots of land here at this intersection?”

Those flower beds along the side of many Clarksville roads are known as “Adopt-a-Plots” and there are several that are open to adopt!

Any group, family, organization or individual can adopt a flower bed of their own!

Being the caretaker of an Adopt-a-Plot is not as daunting of a task as it may seem at first.

Adoptees submit a species list and design to the City Forester and are responsible for the weekly maintenance of the plots and purchase of supplies but the City Forester will provide topsoil, mulch as available and any training or assistance needed.

The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will provide a sign for the plot to show passerbys who has adopted that particular area. It’s a great way to advertise your business or organization! Families could even turn an Adopt-a-Plot into a family project!

For more details on the Adopt-a-Plot program, please contact the Clarksville Parks and Recreation at 931.645.7476 or visit www.cityofclarksville.com.
