APSU Football Coach Kirby Cannon visits Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library for Imagination Library Reading

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University head football coach Kirby Cannon was one of five guest readers at Tuesday’s Imagination Library Reading Event at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library.

Coach Cannon read Keith Faulkner’s The Wide-Mouthed Frog to a the group of more than 20 area kids. He opened his time by talking about being a college football coach and relating that same enthusiasm to reading. Coach Cannon then led the group in a “Let’s Go Peay” chant before his reading.

Players from Austin Peay’s Ohio Valley Conference Champion baseball team are scheduled to read at 11:00am, Friday for program’s second event.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a program guided towards encouraging parents to read with their children. The program – sponsored by the State of Tennessee, Governor and First Lady Haslam, the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation, Friends of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library and many more – provides books to children from birth to age five.
