Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA – Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Cadets Cynthia Stinnett, Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tennessee resident and Even Poole, Norwich University, West Milford, New Jersey resident, took first place for the female and male categories respectively during the 8th Regiment Army physical fitness test, June 29th at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA.
 Austin Peay ROTC Cadet Cynthia Stinnett won first place in APFT.
Competing against 444 of their peers, Poole grabbed the top spot with a score of 370, while Stinnett achieved the highest women’s score with a 384.
The APFT is broken down into three parts including the two-mile run, two-minute pushup and two-minute sit-up. Each Cadet completes all three and then receives a score based on the Army’s APFT score chart.
Cadets must pass the APFT based on Army standards for age and gender in order to qualify for the Army. To pass the APFT, Cadets must receive at least 60 points in each event.
