Four Fort Campbell High School Students receive Lend Lease Community Fund BlueStar Scholarships

Lend LeaseFort Campbell, KY – Lend Lease (US) Community Fund (LLCF) is proud to announce the first-ever BlueStar Scholarships recipients for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year.

As a non-profit organization that focuses on supporting the Military men and women who live in Lend Lease homes and neighborhoods and the communities where Lend Lease employees work and live, LLCF created the BlueStar Scholarships program to honor and recognize students excelling in academic accomplishments, community service and leadership throughout their years in high school.

In the program’s inaugural year, LLCF awarded a total of twelve $5,000 scholarships to eligible applicants, including four graduating seniors from Fort Campbell High School in Kentucky.

The 2013 BlueStar Scholarships program was open to children of active-duty Service Members residing in a Lend Lease privatized military community, like Campbell Crossing, who also attended their installation’s Department of Defense Educational Activity (DoDEA) high school at the time of application. This year’s eligible installations included Fort Knox, KY, Fort Campbell, KY and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC.

“We were absolutely thrilled at the number of applications received in the first year of the BlueStar Scholarships program. The highly qualified pool of applicants made selecting the recipients a challenging, but rewarding process,” said Phillip Carpenter, president of LLCF. ” Each recipient’s dedication to academics, combined with their active involvement and leadership in school and community service activities, and commitment to continuing their education, is what ultimately led us to choose these outstanding student leaders.”

LLCF presented the twelve recipients with scholarship certificates during recent awards ceremonies held at each of the three high schools. Congratulations to the 2013 BlueStar Scholarships recipients.
