Clarksville Police to increase Patrols Wednesday for beginning of School

Clarksville Police DepartmentClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department will increase patrols in the morning and afternoon hours with the starting of School on Wednesday August 7th.

Officers will be ensuring that School Zone Speed Limits are obeyed and also that motorist remember to stop for school buses that are loading and unloading. Motorist must stop for school bus stop signs regardless of the size of the highway.

The only time motorist don’t have to stop is if there is a physically barrier dividing the road such as Martin Luther King Jr.  Parkway (76 Connector).

Motorist must stop on highways such as Madison Street, Riverside Drive, Fort Campbell Boulevard, and Wilma Rudolph Boulevard size of the highway isn’t a factor.

Also remember that many students will be walking to school and motorist need to slow down when they see children on the sidewalk to ensure they can stop if needed.
