Nashville Sounds blank Tucson Patres in series finale 3-0

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN - The Nashville Sounds held the visiting Tucson Padres to only three hits in the team’s seventh shutout victory of the season: a 3-0 win Tuesday night at Greer Stadium.

The Sounds wrap the homestand winning seven of the eight to complete their winningest homestand greater than four games since the 2003 season.

20th Special Forces Group Soldier from Shelby County killed while supporting Operation Enduring freedom

 

Staff Sergeant Stephen M. New killed in Afghanistan

20th Special Forces Group - Fort Bragg, NCNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Many-Bears Grinder regretfully announce the loss of Tennessee soldier Sergeant Stephen Michael New of Bartlett. New has been posthumously promoted to Staff Sergeant.

New was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 20th Special Forces Group (Airborne) out of Jackson, Mississippi but deployed with 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. New was fatally shot during an attack on his unit in Kabul Province, Afghanistan on July 28th.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reports Parents charged with Felony Murder for death of their 4 year old Daughter

 

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Arianna Taylor, age 4, was found dead in her home at 1460 Dotsonville Road, lot 8, on July 12th, 2013.

An autopsy was performed by the State of Tennessee Medical Examiner’s Office.  The Medical Examiner determined that Arianna died as a result of multiple blunt force traumas, and ruled her death a homicide. «Read the rest of this article»
