Colorado Springs, CO – The scheduled game between the Nashville Sounds and Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Friday evening at Security Service Field was postponed due to unplayable field conditions resulting from heavy evening rains.
The Sounds play the Sky Sox at 7:00pm (CT) Saturday, August 10th.
Chattanooga, TN – Clarksville’s Graham Sleigh finished in a tie for 18th place at the 98th Tennessee State Amateur August 9th, despite only one birdie in the final round at the Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.
Hendersonville’s Steven Fox -10 (68-67-68-67=270) won the tournament, beating runner-ups Keith Mitchell (Chattanooga) and Jim Jackson (Germantown, TN) by five strokes.
Fort Campbell, KY – The never ending cycling of soldiers between the battlefield to the home front and vise versa continued Wednesday evening with the return of the final flight of 259 soldiers from the 1st Brigade Combat Team (Bastogne).
For the past nine months the 1st Brigade Combat Team had been in the Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan as part of SFAAT Blackhorse which has been working to help prepare the Afghan National Army’s 1st Kandak, 4th brigade, 201st Corps for the upcoming transfer of authority as U. S. Forces prepare to withdraw from that country.

Clarksville, TN – The water repair on Franklin Street has been repaired ahead of schedule and both Franklin and Reynolds streets have been reopened to traffic. It was first estimated that the repair would take until 1:00pm.
Nashville, TN – Australia’s most famous residents will make their debut in a new habitat opening at Nashville Zoo on Saturday, September 14th. Kangaroo Kickabout will give guests the opportunity to enter the home of 18 red kangaroos.
“We are very excited about the opening of Kangaroo Kickabout, our first major animal exhibit to open since Flamingo Lagoon in 2010,” said Rick Schwartz, Zoo President. “Like our Lorikeet Landing and Critter Encounter exhibits, the Kickabout gives visitors the unique opportunity to interact with our animals.”
