APSU Governors Golf climbs to 2nd place at Badger Invitational

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUMadison, WI -The good news is Austin Peay State University men’s golf team jumped four spots into second place after Day 2 of the Badger Invitational. The bad news is the Governors will need a near miracle finish to catch South Carolina in Tuesday’s final round.

Clarksville Community Concert Association kicked off 2013-14 Community Concert Series with a performance by the Toomai Quintet

 

The Clarksville Community Concert AssociationClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Community Concert Association (CCCA) held this season opener at the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall on Austin Peay State University Friday evening. The concert featured the Toomai String Quintet and what was the first quintet to be featured in a Clarksville community concert series event.

The program was entitled songs without words and featured a selection of choral music played with their five instruments performing the role of the voices. It was sublime. These five performers were able to draw the emotional complexity from the music with apparently effortless ease.

Rossview High School wins Region 5-AAA Girls Golf Title, Clarksville High School’s Hunter Richardson advances on Boy’s side

 

Rossview High School HawksClarksville High School WildcatsClarksville, TN – Rossview High School’s girls golf team was a runaway winner of the Region 5-AAA golf tournament, September 30th at Swan Lake Golf Course, earning a chance to advance to the state tournament; while Clarksville High School’s Hunter Richardson was the lone local boys golfer to make the state tournament field.

After needing a two-hole playoff to win last week’s District 10-AAA title, the Lady Hawks left no doubt in taking the region crown, finishing 10 shots in front of runner-up Station Camp High School and 13 shots better than Clarksville High – the team they edged in last week’s playoff.

Clarksville Police Department reports Sango Pharmacy Burglary

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is currently investigating a burglary that occurred on Sunday, September 29th, 2013 around 6:00am at the Sango Pharmacy located at 2187 Madison Street.

Two unknown persons forced their way into the building and took prescription drugs. Detectives are hoping that someone might recognize the mask, clothing or suspects based upon their build in the video.

Paktya Province, Afghanistan – Originating in 1986 at Fort Hood, Texas, the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club is an exclusive U.S. Army organization for non-commissioned officers who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and performance.

In order to be inducted, the NCOs must be recommended, pass a physical training test as well as several rigorous board appearances.
