Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUGlencoe, AL – Austin Peay State University women’s golf team shaved three strokes off its first-round score but still finds itself in fourth place after two days of the 18th Annual Chris Banister Golf Classic, being played at Silver Lakes Golf Course.

Nashville Sounds beat Iowa Cubs 2-1 in final game of the season

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN - Hunter Morris belted a two-run homer and Hainley Statia made a game-saving catch in the top of the ninth to lead the Nashville Sounds to a 2-1 victory over the Iowa Cubs on Monday afternoon in the season finale at Greer Stadium.

With today’s crowd of 4,586 fans, the Sounds finished with their largest seasonal attendance in six years (355,003).

Clarksville Police reports Motorcycle Accident at Pea Ridge Road and Tracy Lane

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2013 at about 1:27pm, at Pea Ridge Road and Tracy Lane a 1998 Honda motorcycle struck a 1998 Chevy Tahoe.

The motorcycle rider was ejected and sustained serious injuries. The motorcycle rider was flown by life flight to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

2013 Labor Day - U.S. Department of LaborWashington, D.C. – Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers.

It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

Through the years the nation gave increasing emphasis to Labor Day. The first governmental recognition came through municipal ordinances passed during 1885 and 1886.
