Clarksville, TN – Writer, artist and activist Deborah “Debbie” Ann Boen, 58, passed away peacefully in her La Crosse home on Friday, September 6th, 2013.  A memorial service is being planned in Clarksville, TN, after the Wisconsin services are complete.

Using alternative medicines rather than conventional medicine, she kept metastatic melanoma at bay for over 19 years. She called the cancer a miracle because she woke up to life and emotions, living her life to the fullest rather than being a “patient.”

Debbie was an artist, a writer, an activist, a bird lover, a gardener, a free thinker, a mentor, a teacher, a mom, a wife, and a good friend. Born June 3rd, 1955, in Catskill, NY she grew up in Riverside and later Grass Valley, CA. She married the love of her life, David, on October 29th, 1977, in her grandparents’ living room in Grass Valley.

A graduate of the Berkley Psychic Institute, she used her unique intuitive insight to see the capabilities in others. Debbie used her art as a way to express her love of nature, her political views, and teach others how to find the inner artist.

A memorial service is being planned in Clarksville, where Debbie lived for more than 10 years. Details will be announced after the services are completed in La Crosse.
