APSU Governors Cross Country ready to compete in Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN – A youthful Austin Peay State University men’s cross-country team will compete in its first eight-kilometer race, Saturday, when the Govs travel to Huntsville, AL, for the the Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial, hosted by Alabama-Huntsville.

The men’s race is scheduled for 9:00am (CT) at Sharon Johnston Park.

Tennessee Department of Safety, Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs announce Veteran Designation on Driver Licenses, State IDs

 

Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland SecurityNashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Bill Gibbons and Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Many-Bears Grinder today announced that honorably discharged veterans may now visit any driver services center in the state to obtain a specially designated veteran driver license or photo identification card.

Legislation authorizing the state to publicly recognize veterans’ military service was passed in 2011.

Tennessee adopts Second High School Equivalency Test

 

New HISET™ and Revised GED® Start in 2014

Tennessee State Representative - District 67Nashville, TN – Beginning January 2nd, 2014, out-of-school youth and adults who are pursuing a high-school equivalency credential will have another test option to improve their earnings potential.

Tennesseans will have a choice of taking either the new 2014 GED® test or an alternative high school equivalency test designed by Educational Testing Services called HiSET™.

Tennessee is one of several states that are adopting the new test due to changes in the GED Exam.

Clarksville’s Kleeman Community Center’s Creepy Carnival and the Indoor Aquatic Center’s Floating Pumpkin Patch combine to present the first-ever, Spooky Spectacular

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Kleeman Community Center and the Indoor Aquatic Center will be scaring up some Halloween fun with their first-ever Spooky Spectacular on Saturday, October 12th.

The Spooky Spectacular will be open from 3:00pm to 7:00pm with a Haunted Maze and Haunted Swim following from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at both facilities, located side-by-side at 166 Cunningham Lane.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s cross-country team exits the state of Tennessee for the first time in 2013 when it travels to Huntsville, AL, for the Fleet Feet Sports/Earl Jacoby Memorial, hosted by Alabama-Huntsville.

The five-kilometer event will be held at Sharon Johnston Park, tentatively scheduled to begin at 9:45am (CT).

Clarksville Police report Shirley Harris passes away from injuries sustained in College Street, 9th Street Collision

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Friday, September 5th 2013 at 9:34am, Officer S. Holman responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of College Street and 9th Street.

Clarksville Police seek assistance Identifying Vehicle Burglary Suspect

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department reports a vehicle burglary occurred at a business on Ussery Lane. The victims purse and its contents were taken, and now her credit card and checks are being used.

Currently the total is over $1,000.00 in checks and card transactions.
