APSU Football’s Tailgate Alley ready for Home Games

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsClarksville, TN – With Austin Peay State University football’s October 10th home opener against Eastern Illinois less than three weeks away, the Marketing and Promotions Department wants to make students, alumni and fans aware of all the events occurring at Governor Stadium in 2013.

All week, LetsGoPeay.com will dispense information on different promotions and appreciation days, continuing with today’s look at Tailgate Alley.

Since 2007, Tailgate Alley has become the premier tailgating spot for all Austin Peay home football games, serving to unite the campus and community in pride for the Governors.

Located in the Foy Center Parking Lot, adjacent to the softball and indoor tennis facilities, Tailgate Alley is home to tailgates for the Alumni Association, the Peay-Ons and various fraternity and sorority organizations. Space is limited, but contacting Alaric Klinghard (klingharda@apsu.edu or 931.221.7165) will get your spot reserved for any and all Governor home games.

Spot registrations are already being accepted. The first 10 student organizations that register on the Monday of game week will be eligible for $50.00 toward the cost of their tailgate.

Tailgating in Tailgate Alley also gives you a front-row view of the Gov Walk, led by the Governors Own Marching Band, cheer squad and dance team, which escorts the football team from the Dunn Center to Governors Stadium. Live bands will be provided by Student Affairs, and will be announced soon.

Tailgate Alley opens four hours prior to every Austin Peay home football game; you MUST check in with the attendant in order to keep your registration spot from week to week. Failure to check in with the attendant will result in your group having to re-register for the next home game.

During the time when Tailgate Alley is open, all we ask is that you safely operate your grill, store flammable liquids and clean up your area when the game is over.

Check back at www.LetsGoPeay.com tomorrow for more information on the October 10th Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night at Governors Stadium.
