Clarksville Police Department announces Chaplain Martinez goes from Volunteer Chaplain to Part-Time Chaplain

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – As of October 1st, 2013, the Clarksville Police Department (CPD) is pleased to announce Chaplain Modesto Martinez as the part-time Chaplain.

As the Chaplain at the CPD, he will assist in issues, such as; spiritual needs of officers and their families, counseling officers and their families, assist in community outreach programs, deliver specific notifications, and deal with transients and the homeless. Nashville Sounds welcome new manager, Darnell Coles

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN - The Nashville Sounds welcome Darnell Coles as the team’s field manager for the 2014 season, replacing two-year Sounds skipper Mike Guerrero, who was promoted to the Milwaukee Brewers’ coaching staff earlier this off season.

The 51-year-old Coles becomes the 25th manager in the Sounds’ 37-year franchise history and will be joined by a returning coaching staff. Coach Bob Skube, pitching coach Fred Dabney, trainer Aaron Hoback, and strength & conditioning specialist Andrew Emmick will all return for another season in Music City in 2014.

APSU football player declared ineligible for remainder of season

 

Austin Peay State University Governors Sports - APSUClarksville, TN - Austin Peay State University has announced junior defensive tackle Malcolm Goines has been ruled ineligible for the remainder of the 2013 season by the NCAA.

This sanction results from a discovery during an internal audit that revealed Goines should not have been certified eligible for the 2012 season following his transfer from Grand Rapids Community College. A developmental math class inadvertently was certified as transferable credit.

Austin Peay State University choral program continues busy season with October 22nd Concert

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – This fall is shaping up to be a busy semester for Austin Peay State University Choral Activities. In early September, the University’s three choral groups – Vocal Ease, University Choir and Chamber Singers – performed for the Tennessee Board of Regents dinner at APSU.

A few weeks later, the Chamber Singers traveled to Nashville for a performance at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center as part of the Nashville Symphony’s Free Day of Music event.
