Sophomore Jessica Cathey leads the Lady Govs, shooting 151 (78-73) for 23rd place, followed by senior Tala Mumford at 156 (79-77).

Senior Rachel Deaton, who had a Top 5 finish in the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate last week, got off to a rugged start, shooting an uncharacteristic 84 in the morning round only to bounce back with an afternoon 78 for a 162.

Amber Bosworth came in at 164 (81-83) while fellow freshman Morgan Kauffman struggled to a 93-84 (177). A third freshman, Morgan Gardner, playing as an individual, shot 85-82 (167).

“We did not get off to a good start this morning and had way too many big numbers throughout the day,” APSU coach Sara Robson said. “Rachel struggled hitting the ball in the morning but made it work in the second round.

“Jess and Tala played well minus two big numbers a round. Amber played better than her score. She just didn’t start well.”

The tourney will conclude Tuesday on the par-72, 6177-yard layout.
