APSU Lady Govs Tennis competes at Skyhawk Halloween Tournament

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University women’s tennis team travels to Martin Tennessee this weekend to compete in the Skyhawk Halloween Tournament. Austin Peay will match up against host UT Martin and Lipscomb for Saturday’s day-long event.

The Lady Govs enter this weekend tournament off a solid showing at last weekend’s ITA Regional Tournament. Austin Peay’s Andra Cornea came home with victories against Xavier’s Allyson Westling (3-6, 6-4, 7-6, 7-3) and Louisville’s Olivia Boesing (6-4, 6-3).

It will be the first time this fall, all five current team members will complete. It also will be the first full competition for Jovana Karac, and Vanessa Tavares since the Sept 20th Austin Peay Fall Open.

This tournament will conclude the Lady Govs’ fall season. They will resume play Jan. 20th, 2014 against Chattanooga.
