Autumn Comes Alive During LBL’s Fall Frolic

Land Between the Lakes - LBLGolden Pond, KY – Enjoy the changing colors and cooling temperatures at Land Between The Lakes (LBL) National Recreation Area, when you celebrate the fall season at Woodlands Nature Station Saturday, November 9th, 2013.

Fall Frolic features a variety of fall nature events and fun filled activities, including hayrides and live music. “Bring the whole family to enjoy the fall weather and participate in a variety of planned outdoor programs and activities,” said Carrie Szwed, Public Programs Coordinator at Nature Station.

Grab your sweater and enjoy an old-fashioned wagon ride through the woods. These 30-minute hayrides are $2.00 per person and leave regularly throughout the day, 10:00am-4:00pm. Limited seating–sign up at Nature Station that day.

Staff-led rides include fun learning activities and great nature-viewing with a musical twist! Smokey Bear will make scheduled appearances throughout Fall Frolic. Bring your camera for great pictures with this famous Forest Service mascot.

Nature Station admission is $5.00 ages 13 & up, $3.00 ages 5-12, free for ages 4 and under. Hayrides are an additional $2.00 per person.

11:00am – Forecasting Folklore

12:00pm & 2:00pm – Fall Music Concert—featuring, Brio

12:30pm – Sounds of the Season Hike

2:30pm – Where are they Now? Wildlife in Winter

3:30pm – “Going Nuts” Games

Come Outside and Play at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. Managed by the Forest Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Land Between The Lakes provides outdoor recreation, lake access, and environmental education for the public to enjoy.
