USO and Tennessee Titans to host fundraiser for Military and Families

USONashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans are partnering with the USO to host a fund-raising event at LP Field on Friday, November 15th. The event is open to the public and is an opportunity for area residents to learn more about the services offered by the USO at Nashville International Airport and at Fort Campbell, KY. “Troops & Titans” is specifically a fund-raiser to support these services.

There will be special appearances by Tennessee Titans players and cheerleaders. A short program will also include Keni Thomas, a musician and decorated combat veteran of the elite 75th Ranger Regiment special operations unit.

Cocktail hour begins at 6:00pm. Dinner will be served from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. Tours of LP Field will begin at 8:15pm. Parking will be in the “S” lot, which is on Titan’s Way near the intersection with Russell Street. A cash bar will be open throughout the event. Tickets can be purchased here. Tickets may also be purchased at the door. Questions about “Troops & Titans” may be directed to Kari Burgess via email at kburgess@uso.org.

“Our mission is to lift the spirits of military personnel and their families, especially when they’re traveling,” said Kari Burgess, Center Director at USO Nashville and Fort Campbell. “We offer a variety of services to give our military a ‘home away from home’ as they travel through Nashville International Airport or while they have down-time at Fort Campbell.

At USO Nashville, we also have a special opportunity to care for Families of the Fallen as they travel to and from Dover Air Force Base for Dignified Transfers, or around the country for funerals and memorial services.

“It is also a great place of relaxation for young people all over Tennessee who are just entering the military and traveling to their Basic Training destinations. That is so very important to us and we try hard to let them know we and others care.”

The USO centers are manned by volunteers, and services provided are absolutely free to the military and their families as well as military retirees and their families. The money raised at “Troops & Titans” will support all these services.
